Showers Over Creston Junction by wyorev Showers Over Creston Junction by wyorev
A small thundershower moves over the Creston Junction area of southern central Wyoming. Odd weather as Wyoming usually does not see thunderstorms in October, especially this early in the day.

I have always wanted to take a picture like this, yet I have always been unable to. This is quite stunning, great work.

lol. Thanks, but if you notice, the power poles are parallel with the vertical borders, and should be perpendicular with the ground...so, I would call this a perfectly held freehand camera shot. hehehe

WOW. Very beautiful. There was something like that last year near my hometown, but it was further and I couldn't catch like you did.

Thanks! The contrasting colors really work well here. Usually this is a very desolate and challenging part of Wyoming to take photos of. I got real lucky.

I love the position of the rainbow in this and how dense the storm is. Nice contrast of colors.

Thanks a bunch! It dropped a bunch of hail and rail for a short 10 or so minutes as it rolled overhead. I don't think I had ever seen hail in October before this day.

Yeah for a landscape like that I would imagine hail wouldn't be on most peoples minds. Hopefully our recent wet weather continues down here.

It was indeed. I watched it form on the distant horizon at dawn, move overhead, and then north over the course of about 5 hours. Too bad I was busy with work and didn't take more shots. Thanks for the comment!

You had all that time to look at it? and this is the only one you took? I would have wasted 100's of batteries over the course of those 5 hours. Still that's one beautiful shot. I would have liked to have been there.
